Driving Directions from Everywhere

If you really want to get more info than you can possibly use, click on the Yahoo Maps button at the very
bottom of this page, or use MAP QUEST or other stuff.
Use 288 SCUDDER AVENUE, HYANNIS MA 02601 to plot.
Otherwise here goes a bunch of directions you can print out.

If you are coming from Logan Airport or Boston or points North.
From Logan, go through the Tunnel into Boston, then watch the signs as soon as you get up to the ground again and get onto I-93 South. From Maine or eastern New Hampshire or northeastern Massachusetts, get to Boston on I-95, and follow signs for I-93 South. Then from Boston, take I-93 South to Braintree and bear off to the left onto Route 3 (marked 'to Cape Cod'). About 45 minutes later you'll come to the Sagamore Bridge. Go over it and you are on Route 6, the Mid Cape Highway.

From New York, eastern Connecticut & all points South.
You'll come up I-95 North either straight out of New York City, or better by-pass the City and take I-287 N and come over the Tappan Zee Bridge, and use the Cross Westchester (I-287) and join I-95 at the NY-CT line. Take I-95N to Providence, RI and then take I-195 East to Cape Cod. Some 30 minutes later, you exit right on Route 25 East (marked to Cape Cod). Then go about 10 miles on Route 25 and cross over the Bourne Bridge. At the end of the bridge is a rotary. Go 3/4 the way around and follow signs to Route 6. Three miles later you come to a stop light about under the Sagamore Bridge. Turn right at the light (marked to Route 6), and go up the ramp and you are on Route 6, the Mid Cape Highway.

If you are coming from the Northwest or way out West in the hinterlands.
Come in on the Mass Pike (I-90 East) and go to I-495 South. From somewhat southwest and the Hartford area, take I-84 East to the Mass Pike East to I-495 South. From the northwest get on I-495 South. Follow along I-495 until it ends and becomes Route 25 (marked to Cape Cod).

Once you are on the Cape and heading out on Route 6 East.
Go to Exit number 6 and get off onto Route 132 towards Hyannis. Go to the 2nd traffic light (1.5 miles) and bear right just before the light (Cape Codder Hotel on the right corner). Go 1 block and turn right again onto Pitchers Way (Jiffy Lube and NAPA Auto Parts on this corner). Go a little more than 2.5 miles (through 2 traffic lights) and you come to a stop sign and the Inn. We are on Scudder Avenue where Pitchers Way ends. Pull in the driveway and you're here. Welcome!

Let us know if you are arriving after 8 P.M. If you are going to be arriving late, park in the driveway close to either side and go in the front door. A note will tell you how to get to your room; there will be a map of good restaurants in town that serve until 10 or 11 P.M., so you won't die of hunger.

Directions from points on the Cape.

From Woods Hole & Falmouth.
Take the road to Falmouth and then take Route 28 South all the way to Hyannis. It's about 40 minutes. You'll go through the Mashpee Rotary, past little shopping centers in Cotuit, Osterville and Centerville. After Centerville, bear right at the next traffic light onto West Main Street. It is marked 'Downtown Hyannis.' Go down West Main a little over a mile to the second traffic light, and turn right onto Pitchers Way (Papa John's Pizza is on this corner). Go a half mile and you'll reach the Inn. We are on Scudder Avenue where Pitchers Way comes to an end.

From further out the Cape.
Get on Route 6 West and go to exit 6 and get off. At the end of the ramp turn left on Route 132. Go to the 2nd traffic light (Cape Codder Hotel on right). Just before this light, bear off to the right, it's marked 'Hyannis West End.' Go one block and turn right onto Pitchers Way (Jiffy Lube on corner). Go a tad over 2.5 miles and you'll reach the Inn. We are on the right where Pitchers Way ends at Scudder Avenue.

From the Ocean Street (Hy-Line) Docks.
Go up Ocean to the light at South St and then straight ahead to the light at Main Street. Turn left on Main and go all the way through town. At the far end of town you’ll come to a rotary. Go virtually all the way around and take the last (3rd) exit onto Scudder Avenue. We are a half mile out of town on Scudder on the right.

From the Hyannis South Street (SSA) Docks.
Go straight up Pleasant Street to Main Street. Turn left and go all the way through downtown. At the end of town, you'll hit a rotary (Roundabout to you UKers). Go most of the way around and take the last right just past the Paddock Restaurant. That's Scudder Avenue. We are a half a mile out of town on Scudder. Yes, that's us on the right at the curve of the road.

From Hyannis (Barnstable) Airport.
Leave the airport and turn left to the Rotary. Somehow get into the flow of traffic (Good Luck) and take the 2nd Exit marked Route 28 North to Falmouth. Go to the 3rd traffic light. It is at the top of the hill. Turn left onto Pitchers Way. Follow Pitchers Way a tad over 1.5 miles and you will come to the Inn. We are on Scudder Avenue where Pitchers Way ends. The airport is about 2 ˝ miles away from the Inn.

Public Transportation from New York, Boston, Providence.

Bonanza Bus Lines has service from Providence, Rhode Island, T.F.Green Airport in Providence, and connecting service coming out of New York and points south.

All the bus lines come to the main Hyannis terminal which is a mile from here. It's about a $5.00 cab ride, or call the Inn and we'll pick you up if we can get away.

Continental, Delta, Colgan Air, Cape Air, U. S. Air Express, and a couple others have direct flights to Hyannis from Boston, Newark, La Guardia, Providence, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Pricey but quick. Hyannis airport is 2 miles from the Inn and about a $7.00 cab ride.
